2015 End of Year "Turkey Shoot"
The traditional "Turkey Shoot" was held on the final club open day of 2015.
A 10 target 3 positional course was set up on the day and made a bit more challenging by the gusting cross-wind.
Congratulations to Vince for 1st place with a score of 51

SIHFT End of Season Prize Giving and Fun Shoot
A special thank you to the Horsham team for putting on a great End of Season shoot and Prize Giving. The course was excellent and the idea to mark the ranges for most targets was very helpful to share ideas and discuss techniques.
A very enjoyable year for the Swallows members who competed this year and a special thank you to the members who helped set up and run the 2 hosted rounds.
Well done to Dave Standing for winning a cash prize in the draw and to Kim for winning the speed shoot with an excellent time.
Congratulations to Mike for coming 7th overall in the Open class, to Alex for coming 1st overall in the Primary class (for the 3rd consecutive year), to Max Wiltshire for coming 3rd overall in Primary (and recoiling) class - an excellent result for his 1st year shooting, and to Dave Standing for coming 4th overall in the Recoiling class.
We are all looking forward to 2016 season....

SIHFT Round 10 - Buxted
The final round at Buxted was a great set of targets spread through the woods. The weather was great with little wind and a nice warming sun. The course was rather tricky as the clever course setters had obscured most of the target hinges (for those who use this for ranging), and had set many targets at the longer ranges with good range traps. Even experienced shooters were known to get donuts today; the highest score being 56 despite the good weather - testament to the course setters' skills.
No Gold medal winners for Swallows today but a big 60 for Mike as he celebrated a milestone birthday. Happy Birthday Mike. Special thanks to Mike's sister for making the lovely cake too.
Open class : Silver medal winners Mike (51), Steve (50) and Vince (48).
Primary class : Gold medal winner : Alex (44)
At the end of the round and the whole competition, Swallows maintained their 4th position overall.

SIHFT Round 9 - Swallows
Round 9 was a very enjoyable competition. The opportunity to shoot around the lake gave 4 separate target areas - the 2 fields, the lake and the wooded area. The weather was great which was very welcome considering the torrential rain on Friday.
Special thanks to Mike, Vince and Steve for giving up 2 weekends to prepare the course and to Gerry and Stewart for maintaining the grounds throughout the year and to Carla for her help setting up on Saturday. A big thank you to all the visitors who helped clear the course afterwards on Sunday - very much appreciated.
Congratulations to Lewis Hodges from Mile Oak for a clear round 60; achieving a Gold, a Platinum for 5 Golds, and the 60 clear round medal. Great shooting....
Well done to Dave Standing for another 2015 highest score with 48; and to Steve for his 2015 highest score with 53.

SIHFT Round 8 - Horsham
An enjoyable morning at Horsham was had by all... No rain and very little wind in the woods but a tricky breeze in the field. The light was very low in the woods which made for some tricky shots, even IR struggled to show up on some shots.
Well done Mike for another gold medal and Dave Standing with a 2015 highest score with his springer.
Well done again to Alex for beating his Dad again who "was on for a 54 and then dropped 6 points in 7 shots, still I like Bronze medals really :-)"

Primary class : Gold medal winner : Alex (49)

SIHFT Round 5 - Buxted
The Buxted team put on a great round. The weather was very unkind considering the sun we had enjoyed for the last few days. The rain came down in buckets, but at least there wasn't any wind...
A Buxted first time clear round was won by Alex Larkin, a visitor to the SiHFT, but as he came from Lewes originally we offered to make him an honorary Swallows FTC member.

SIHFT Round 4 - Horsham
A great competition round at Horsham. Some challenging targets to range correctly in the wooded area taking advantage of the tunnelling effect and sun/shade to confuse.
At least the weather was kind and kept dry. The wind in the field was very unpredicatable which added to the interest.
A good Swallows-FTC turn out for this round.

SIHFT Round 3 - Swallows-FTC
Congratulations to the Swallows members for creating and setting up a great competition round with the new target locations into the wooded areas. The weather was somewhat unkind with persistent rain for most of the competition but it did bring with it a good head of wind which made the shooting a lot more "interesting". Special thanks to Gerry and Stuart for the catering which went down very well and to the club members who helped prepare the course yesterday and for clearing it away after the competition.
It was great to have Max join us on his first competition. A very credible score considering he had to zero in a new scope just before the competition but still knocked down 2 great targets in the field at long range.
Good scores for the Swallows-FTC team today will all Team Scores being in the 50's.
Open class : Gold medal winners :Kim (55), Mike (54), Silver medal winners : Eli (51), Steve (50), Vince (50)

The 2nd round at Ford was very enjoyable. The weather was surprisingly kind for Ford; even the sun came out...
Congratulations to Mike for the highest of the round with an impressive 59, just the free-stander rat caught him out.
Double congratulations to Mike for winning the cash prize draw as well. A very enjoyable morning I'm sure...

SIHFT Round 1 - Mile Oak
Mile Oak never fails to put on a great SIHFT competition and today was no exception. Great target placement, the inevitable wind, and non Gamo targets all added to the challenge. The weather was very kind, blue sky and warm. A great start to the SIHFT season.
Steve and Alex shot with Lisa from Iden Ferns club. A very enjoyable grouping.
